Tracy Crisp: Pearls

Adelaide Fringe, Watch from home, or Seated at Black Box Theatre

About this event

In the search for a string of pearls, a daughter travels to her abandoned childhood home and a mother travels from Port Pirie to Paris without ever leaving Australia. Family relics abound: ashtrays, a Princess Diana jigsaw, a commode used as a table. Memories are ignited then questioned. And still the pearls cannot be found. Family fractures deepen until finally a heartbreaking, but healing truth is revealed. Combining theatre and storytelling, a true story told with humour and poignancy that will make you laugh, then cry, then laugh again.

The first in her series of sold-out solo shows, Pearls returns to fringe for 3 nights only. Told at twilight and under the stars, the Botanic Gardens provides the perfect setting.

"...clever, beautifully written with sentences lyrical in structure, and simple in its delivery–the booming laughter from Bakehouse Theatre’s Studio a testament to Crisp’s unique craft." The Advertiser
