About this venue

Black Box Theatres is a bespoke Fringe activation by Hartstone-Kitney Productions - including the Black Box Theatre, Open Air Theatre and The AmphiTheatre. The program is curated by South Australian Artistic Director Joanne Hartstone and is run by local Artists and Fringe lovers.

Hartstone-Kitney Productions have won 31 Adelaide Fringe Awards including the inaugural Made In Adelaide Award, Frank Ford Award, Best Theatre Awards, and Adelaide Critics Circle Awards. Plus our Artistic Director, Head of Production, and Front of House Manager have individually won ‘Spirit Of The Fringe’ awards.

Our theatres have been designed by Tom Kitney to create high quality productions with the most cutting edge technical capabilities. Indoors, we have air-conditioning, total blackout, reduced noise bleed - and outdoors, we have stunning views and exclusive access... plus the prettiest box office in Adelaide.
